The Chronicles of the Immortal Stormfire Lineage.

Today’s lunch was Dolmio Classics Meatballs Fusilli, a microwave pouch meal that cooks in just 2 minutes.

I bought the 6-pack from Amazon for £14.99, which works out at around £2.50 per meal. Zeph and I split the pack, giving us three lunches each.

The meal contains pasta, tomato sauce and meatballs in a convenient pouch that can be heated directly in the microwave.

The portion size was reasonable for lunch and the pouch contained a good amount of pasta and several meatballs.Nutritionally, each pouch contains 232 calories, 13g of protein and 3.5g of sugar.

While the pasta means it isn’t low-carb, the sugar content is surprisingly low for a ready meal, making it a better option than many convenience foods.Taste-wise, I found it enjoyable.

Just enough tomato flavouring so it wasn’t overpowering. The tomato sauce had a pleasant flavour, the pasta was cooked well and the meatballs added some extra substance to the meal. For a quick lunch when cooking isn’t practical, it does the job nicely.

Taste: 8/10💷

Value: 8/10

Convenience: 10/10

Diabetic Friendly: Reasonable in moderation

Overall, I’d happily buy these again. They’re quick, filling, easy to store and make a useful cupboard staple for busy days or when energy levels are low.
