Compton Prefabs, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.
These prefabs were built after the Second World War as temporary homes, but many families remained living in them happily for decades.
These drawings depict the prefabs from my memories of spending school holidays with my grandparents during the 1980s and early 1990s.
The final image shows the original prefab alongside the later brick-built homes. Many prefabs were altered during the late 1990s, but my grandparents chose to keep theirs in its original form.
I will be revisiting Compton and Tettenhall later this month, returning to an area that holds many childhood memories.
